This is an idea I may regret letting out of the bag – I could really see Accoutrements/Archie McPhee making these, if it turned out to be a workable idea:
The Death By ANT FARM toy
It’s a regulation ant farm except that, instead of the little houses and stuff you usually find at the top and the gloppy blue food that you’re supposed to feed the ants, there is a figure with a “body” of pinkish ant food which, as the residents feed on it, will reveal a “realistic” looking skeleton of white plastic beneath.
As you can see in my highly professional and stunningly realistic concept drawing, I initially called it the “Native American Death By ANT FARM”. I am no longer convinced that including “Native American” as part of the title is such a wonderful idea.
Remember – you saw it here, first.
Would you be able to order a custom body, say resembling someone you know?
Nah – mass production only. I suppose, if you’re adept at such a thing, you could mold the face to resemble a close friend …
