I recently picked up a small, second hand tome on the limerick (“The Lure of the Limerick – An Uninhibited History” Baring-Gold) and found myself not only amused but inspired.<\/p>\n

One morning soon thereafter, I was startled awake by ‘smealm,<\/em>‘ a truly disturbing occurrence, I can assure you.<\/p>\n

The bluer ‘rotini<\/em>‘ followed with rapidity as I hunkered over the keyboard. <\/p>\n

Then the bout of limericks subsided.<\/p>\n

I experienced a period of lethargy and irreflection as the all-enveloping tide of The Holidays washed over the land, a thick trail of slime and glitter in its wake.<\/p>\n

Today, on this vaunted and arbitrary eve, I remembered my hopes for a trio and began the hunt anew. I soon ran down not only naughty ‘Lenore<\/em>‘ but also an unlooked for caution to the socially maladroit.<\/p>\n

Pondering the fact that four is neither three nor five, and knowing that odd was the even I was after, I dug around until I found this outing’s final candidate: my take on the connected life.<\/p>\n

Given the relative ease with which they seem to be able to be prised from me, I can only assume other, small knots of limericks*<\/strong> are to follow.<\/p>\n

Until that time, I present to you the carefully titled:<\/p>\n

Some Limericks<\/h2>\n

Sir Terrowin, brave knight of the realm,
\nis a little too fond of his helm
\nHe stays in his panoply
\nas long as he canoply
\nand before he draws near you can smealm<\/p>\n

A lad, served a dish of rotini
\nwas shocked, something he\u2019d never seeni
\nPushing back his plate
\nsaid: \u201cThey might taste great
\nbut look like a pile of pig\u2019s weenies\u201d<\/p>\n

\"Do<\/a>A wild young woman, Lenore
\ncomported herself like a whore
\nShe’s stretched out her sheath
\nso far past belief
\non barstools her butt hits the floor<\/p>\n

Beware you who ever endeavor
\nto interject what you think’s clever
\nWe’ve heard it before
\nso many times o’er
\nIt’s a social\u00a0brick, not a lever<\/p>\n

The internet is hard to explain
\nIt can be good but I would refrain
\nYes, it gives us a lot,
\nyou can learn, meet, and shop,
\nbut it seems to leave holes in the brain<\/p>\n
