A wooly plop<br \/>\npast satin strings to gutters dark<br \/>\nand snakes of lint, upon which never<br \/>\nlight does glint.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>And there begins<br \/>\nthe mystery \u2013 Ahoy! What fun!<br \/>\n(if not for me) For when I place,<br \/>\nby accident, in pocket not<br \/>\nbut hole there rent, well, c\u2019est la vie<br \/>\nand au revoir I\u2019ll likely see<br \/>\nsaid thing no more.<\/p>\n<p>Where are those keys?<br \/>\nHave you my lunch?<br \/>\nMy sunglasses \u2026 wait:<br \/>\nwas that a crunch?<\/p>\n<p>Up to the shoulder,<br \/>\nelbow stuck in the lining of this<br \/>\nwool stomach. How all these things<br \/>\ncan somehow hide where, prior, nothing<br \/>\nwas inside\u2019s a marvel of physics;<br \/>\nan anomaly that continues to confound<br \/>\nand trouble me. If common sense<br \/>\nwere give its head, I\u2019d call a priest:<br \/>\nLast rites \u2013 coat\u2019s dead!<\/p>\n<p>But old peacoat,<br \/>\nyou have my trust.
