Last night I received both an email and text message stating:<\/p>\n

“Hyde and Sikh – or Hide and Sikh, if the book is leather bound<\/em>“<\/p>\n

Which was so painfully close I urged the guesser on.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

This morning I awoke to the correct answer:<\/p>\n

“Haydn Sikh – My first guess came from thinking the portrait looked a bit like R. L. Stevenson without a mustache, or how I imagine Dr. Jekyll might look.<\/em>“<\/p>\n

Ding! Ding! Ding!<\/p>\n

Yes, indeed! That is, in fact, a portrait of (Franz) Joseph Haydn<\/a> (1732 \u2013 1809), his head photoshopically wrapped in a Sikh<\/a> turban.<\/p>\n

I considered adding in one of the 5 Sikh k’s, such as a kara or kirpan … but I was too lazy.<\/p>\n

In any case, our lovely contestant, Anne On a Mouse, has chosen as his prize a framed, 8″x12″ print:<\/p>\n
